I am in the process of immigrating to New Zealand. I went to back with my Wife and Mother in law to give them Full Signing power over all my accounts. I asked a number of times if this signing power covers everything. and was advised more than once that it does. I now sit in New Zealand and my wife needs to change the OTP cell number for internet banking. She was advised that she does not have Internet banking authority.

Now this after a number of time confirming that it will cover everything, also my wife has full power to close the account, open new accounts, transact on the account, but cannot change details to access the account via the internet or change details on the account for the internet.

Please explain this to me, makes no sense all. I had every intention to keep the account open in SA, but after this issue, and not the only one, a number of other issues that took a whole number of visits to the bank to resolve. I now feel like instructing my wife close the account and transfer the funds to another bank.
