VitalityDrive rewards, and by implication penalises you, for your driving behaviour via monitoring the times of the day you drive, the distance you drive, your speed and the G-forces on your car using a tracking device.
These measurements are used to determine your DQ points, which are directly related to how much Fuel Rewards you will receive.
These measurements are compared to VitalityDrive's database of speed limits.
As confirmed by Mr. Mabindla (a manager at VitalityDrive), these speed limits are MORE THAN 5 YEARS OLD.
I have notified VitalityDrive / Discovery Insure since the inception of my insurance that these speed limits are incorrect and on various occasions since then (i.e. January/February 2012, June/July 2012, January - May 2013) to no avail.
I have even sent Google Streetview photos confirming the actual speed limits posted on various roads in Pretoria and Johannesburg. These photos were taken by Google in 2009.
Mr Mabindla, in May 2013, promised that this would be resolved within 2 weeks (i.e. June 2013).
I have been diligently keeping under the speed limits, but have been penalised using old speed limits. When will Discovery Insure fix this?
