Misleading Note on Credit Card Statement

On my credit card statement dated 22 January 2013, there is a note saying the following:
Earn DOUBLE eBucks on International & Cross Border straight purchases and DOUBLE eBucks on local budget
swipes on your FNB Visa Credit Card from 01 November to 31 March 2013.

In the statement in question, all purchases were made in December 2012 in Dubai. When I called Ebucks to query why I have not received double ebucks, I was told that this will be paid over in a months time. Today when I queried with FNB, I am told that this is only applicable to new customers.

Seems to me that FNB are not being very honest here and are deliberately misleading customers.
