FNB closed our Cathcart Branch and supplied us with an ATM which is frequently out of order - At least once a month. Our accounts are with Stutterheim branch 50 km away and Queenstown branch 60 km away maintain the ATM. They only have 1 technician to service 12 to 16 ATM's in various towns in the area and he obviously cannot get around timeously to do repairs causing frustration to FNB clients. WE NEED MORE TECHNICIANS. The ATM was down on 6 Aug and again on 9 Aug and to day 12 Aug it has still not been repaired. They tell me that dust is the cause of the faults which I can believe as it was placed on the N6 right in the teeth of the prevailing winds. In addition during the morning it is difficult to read the screen as the sun shines on it. Another problem is that it sometimes rejects notes when new and old notes are mixed which means having to do a second or even third deposit which generates additional cash deposit fees - that is a problem that needs sorting out and should not be a cost to us the clients.
