First National Bank
Unreasonable Expectation from FNB Home Loans

We applied for an advance on our bond on 16 July 2013. It was approved in Principal and met the valuation specs. We provided FNB with a City of JHB acc at proof of address. The acc had a balance outstanding on it. We were asked to settle it in order for the process to proceed, which we did & provided FNB with an email from COJ together with a screen-dump from COJ confirming that the amount is settled and we are in fact now in credit. COJ do not provide letters to clients. FNB refuse to accept this as proof of settlement, and will only accept a STATEMENT from COJ. Statements are only generated once a month on the 21st of the month! Why can what I provided not suffice? I am happy to provide the statement when I receive it! I am extremely disappointed with the manner in which we have been treated. This in my opinion does not make any sense, and no one at FNB can give us a reasonable explanation as to why what we've given them is sufficient.
Waiting another 18 days to provide the statement is quite ridiculous when you already have proof of hand!! Please can someone give me a logical answer to this??
18 July to 26 August is almost 6weeks! Is that reasonable?
