When we opened the account with our Prestige Banker, we also applied for a Credit Card. All documents were submitted and approved and signed for.
This was over 3 months ago. Multiple complaints were lodged taking 14 working days each, without any resolution. It was then stated that an account handed over in 2007 was still active and no new cards would be released until this was settled. Clearly myself being an Admitted Attorney knowing the Law of Prescription (one would assume) Standard Bank clearly does not conform to basic legislation that we as customers get forced to agree to.
An additional month and a half has passed and yet we are still waiting for a letter to take the matter to the Ombudsman.
Please see email below:
" Good day Mr Meyer
I do apologise for this, however this matter has been escalated to the Customer Relations Centre and is out of my control. The Customer Relations Centre needs to issue you the letter to the Ombudsman. I am following up with them. You can contact them on 0860 101 101 under reference number 53653602
Regards
