On 15/07 I received an sms from ABSA stating "Dear ABSA client, your vehicle insurance will increase by R1661.78 as no proof of insurance was received. Please contact 0860053421 or [Email Removed]
The following morning I phoned and was passed between three or four different persons that made me hold the line for probably 40minutes in total. Eventually I reached a gentleman called Clifford Dome that mentioned he is second in charge after Nathan Smith. I explained the scenario to him at length and he mentioned that they did send me a letter to notify me. Needless to say, I didn't receive this letter. I explained to him that their "broken phone" policy is absolutely crazy and that they couldn't just take out insurance on my behalf after my vehicle has been financed with them for over two and a half years already. Long story short, my Insurance broker supplied the document requested within 10 minutes and I accepted the matter as resolved. Well to my surprise the R1661.78 was taken off my account on01/08/13. This cost me over an hour on friday to contact them. I'll log a separate complaint on how they handled this. These people simply dont care
