My car is financed through ABSA. When I bought the car in April 2012. On the 01/08/2013Aug my account was debited with R1400 more.
When inquiring with Absa they told me that they have no proof of insurance on my car and added Comprehensive vehicle insurance.
First of all I did NOT get a phone call, email, letter or anything requesting me to supply them with proof of insurance or just to notify me of what is happening. I did not give any one permission to debit my account.
I sent through proof of insurance on 2 Aug 2013 and requested an immediate refund. I phoned on the 5th of Aug to follow up only to be told that there is a back log of emails and I should phone again in 24hrs. I phoned again on the 6th of Aug and finally managed to get someone who helped me to escalate the refund since I need the money to pay for my sons schools fees. Even though the matter has been escalated I got told that will take 48 WORKING hours.
I requested a letter from Absa that I can provide to my sons school to state that I will only be able to pay them once Absa has refunded the money but got told they cant give me a letter.

This is unacceptable.
