Account frozen again!

I have recently emigrated to Australia and before I left I had my account Fica'd. I now have been informed that due to some problem that occurred after I had already left the country, that my account was not fica'd. I am now sitting 10 000km away and am unable to transfer my funds to my new bank account in Australia.

Customer service rudely told me that there was nothing that could be done and that I would have to come in personally even though it was their mistake.

Does Absa require me to spend R20 000 plus on a plane ticket back to South Africa for a mistake their employers are responsible for before a client of years can get their money? Or is there some other alternative?
