I am currently in Germany doing expat work & have a Bidvest World Currency Card (WCC). I recently did an online transaction with this WCC & due to a change in personal circumstances I cancelled the transaction within 2 hours of doing the purchase. I was refunded a lower amount due to exorbitant bank charges (higher than most other banks in SA!!). I contacted Bidvest Bank's customer service telephonically & was advised the matter will be looking into. 4 days later I sent a formal email (with all the necessary attachments) & was advised the matter has been escalated to senior management. It has been almost 2 weeks since I first laid the charge query claim & to-date have not heard anything from Bidvest Bank or their senior management. I have sent a follow-up email as well as laid an on-line complaint (reference # BBWEB00028). One would imagine that with such ridiculously high bank charges you would atleast get decent customer service i.e. An acknowledgement of emails, a reply to emails detailing how amounts were achieved & a reference number for calls.
To date I, as a client of Bidvest Bank have received the worst value for my money, empty promises and zero customer service.
