If you are in the market for a Credit Card, please do not get an African Bank CC. My card was activated last week Thursday and I tranferred money into the account.By Saturday the money was not available and I called the call centre. I was told that I need to send a copy of my ID and proof of payment in order for them to allocate the funds. I was also told that I should use a Standardbank account in future when I pay money into this card. On Sunday I paid more money into the account and by Monday afternoon there were still no funds reflecting. After several calls to the call centre and branch, the money became available. When I tried booking my holiday online last night - the card was rejected. I tried different times and different computers, but still the card was rejected. I then used my fathers card and the payment was made immediatly. I then went into the branch to pay the money back into my fathers account, but I was told that only gold card members have the option to do telephone and internet banking. I was also told that I need to be a member for 3 to 6 months before I can upgrade. All-in-all, this has only cost me bank charges and nothing else. Stay away!!!
