Overcharged for a policy i dont own

On the 1st of July 2013 my car installment was billed extra by R1000.00 upon enquiry i was told it was for insurance as i didnt send ABSA proof of insurance and was given email to send proof to, all this was done on the 2nd July already and till today i havent been refunded, when i called today i was told that they wont refund the money into my bank account but to my vehicle account, my problem is why dont they return the money where they found it, why would i have a policy which i didnt siogn for, no schedule nothing? this is not good business practice and its a that they asked for my proof of insurance because how else would i have gotten the car out of the delearship without insurance, i wnat my money back with banks charges for thsi inconvenience and utter unpofessionalism. Today i called and was told that they are in the process of refund me, can 15 days be a turn around time ofr an email?? this is madness. I want my refund in my bank account not in my car installment account.
