I am a FNB premier customer, been banking with fnb for over 4 years. I have completely paid off my overdraft, I have paid all my loans on time and completely closed them off quickly.
Recently I called to enquire about a personal finance as financing a vehicle that is a 2006 model is something you will not do, apparently its too old for vehicle finance. The agent was friendly and was so great to offer me a 'personalised' interest rate of 24% on a loan of R45 000. 24%?! Great to know that you hold your premier customers in such high regard and offer them such great deals, its not like I bank over R300 000 a year with you and frequently make use of your services.
I have now been in contact with Absa as my colleague who earns 1/5 of my salary managed to secure a personal loan recently for himself at 12%... I am considering changing banks completely for my personal banking as its a complete slap in the face to be told I cant finance a motorcycle made in 2006 as FNB feels a vehicle that old is a risk, regardless of my credit score and the fact that I'm a premier banker, then secondly to even offer me a loan at 24%!
Shocking, this while I am also looking into purchasing property
