Transfer to Wesbank from Std Bank

I am trying to make a transfer to Wesbank from Std Bank on Internet Banking. Same problem as a previous poster in Hellopeter (7 May - "Settlement Dept.business knowledge inadequate"). Error message: "Invalid beneficiary reference format used. Please confirm the beneficiary reference and the correct format of the reference to use with the Company you are trying to pay/load before trying again."

Wesbank Grahamstown told me the problem was with Standard Bank and that I should use my old account number. However, my old account number is exactly the same format/length as the new. Same error message. Assistance please Wesbank.
