Outstanding Debit card Authorisation

I have a new card with FNB, and i deposited an amount. but when i checked my account it had a "Outstanding Debit card Authorisation" and a portion of my available money was taken. I do not know why they did this but i am certainly unhappy since no one cared to explain this to me
