I worked for Earlybird services for 14 years and was retrenched October 2012. In May 2009 Mastercare bought Earlybird and we where advised the new pension fund was Absa. In August 2010 Mastercare was deducting the pension amount from our salaries but didn't pay this over to Absa. Why where we as members not notified of this or supplied with a statement each year? We where notified of this by a fellow staff member 9 months after the last contribution. The previous pension sent members statements each year. Once i was retrenched my previous pension paid out within 6 weeks which was 12 years contribution. One and a half years contribution which is held by Absa i yet to be paid to me which is 9 months later. I have emailed and made numerous phone calls with no response. Why is this? Is Absa in this of our hard earned money?
