I have been helped by an administrator from the Absa Pension Fund dept in order for my Absa pension to be released. It was communicated that payout usually takes a month. Today it is a month and two days later but still nothing. It took the administrator a week to respond to let me know that the docs are with SARS and when I asked for estimated timeframes, they just didn't bother to get back to me. I had someone from SARS check for the delay on their side, it was advised that the clearance has gone through to Absa.

The problem with Absa Pension Fund Dept is that they have problems with their telephone lines (it took a few months for me to get through to anyone without the phone being dropped or needing to leave a voicemail) and their customer service etiquette has gone down the drain. If this is the service they are rendering to an ex employee, I do not want to know about the clients.
