On the 16th June, I woke up to an sms to say my account had been frozen as I was FICA incompliant despite the fact that I handed all the required documents to the Sandton branch in January. This was the first time I had been warned that I may not be compliant, and I didn't have access to my account for that day.
I called the call centre and was transferred to FICA the next morning. I spoke to a lady who said I would have 49 days to submit my ID and proof of address to my branch.
The following week the same thing happened, so I phoned the call centre and was promised by Lesogo that I would have another 49 days. I was skeptical this time, so got a reference number C6010933.
Yesterday, 10 June my account was blocked for the third time. I phoned the call centre and was told that the Claremont branch had manually blocked my account. I was called back by the branch and was told that I had a week to submit my documents and my account would be temporarily unfrozen. Clearly they didn't unblock my account as last night, I was unable to pay for dinner using my cards, and had to use my business credit card to avoid not being able to settle the bill.
This is COMPLETELY unacceptable.
