Credit Card issued in my name without my knowledge

On Friday, 20 June 2013, I received a call from Standard Bank call center regarding the outstanding payments on my ''supposedly'' credit card account. This came as a huge surprise to me as I don't have a credit card account with Standard Bank. They told me the credit account was opened in November 2012 in KZN. I explained to them that I don't have a credit account with Standard Bank and if such an account exist in my name, then someone must have used my personal information to open a credit account. I immediately went to Northgate branch, Johannesburg to inquire about this. The Branch manager promised me that she will look into it. I went to Douglasdale police station to open a case but couldn't do so without the necessary supporting documents from the bank. On Monday, 24 June 2013, I went back to the bank only to be told that the bank will conduct its own investigation that will last a minimum of two weeks and so the bank couldn't provide me with the supporting documents. In the meantime, the call center keeps calling me to settle the debt. I don't have a credit account with Standard Bank and I need my name cleared. It is affecting my credit score and ruining my life.
