Logged into Absa's internet banking site 3 times today without incident. On attempting a login tonight the system loops around the password (pwd) submission screen, prompting for a pwd but hanging when it has been entered & looping back requesting a 2nd entry of the same pwd. Having run Windows 8 for 6 weeks with regular faults occurring on the Absa site -which the Absa helpdesk has admitted to being an ongoing "work in progress" on earlier calls- I selected the "F12" key as advised previously to force the screen to load.
However, once the pwd has been re-entered, the system delivers a message saying "Your pwd has been locked" and "Access to this function denied". Calling Absa results in a message saying "Go to your branch to reset your pwd" & when selecting the option to speak to the helpdesk one is told (in this case by the very helpful Fanus Swart) that there is nothing they can do & it would be best to send an email to second level support directly so that they will get back to me (next week sometime). Most frustrating of all -other than having to go to a branch for an Absa fault & the ongoing Absa issues with W8- is the' I cannot say and I'm not sure obfuscations. Helpdesk?
