I ordered a phone from the FNB site for a Samsung S4 on a Cell C contract at R299 pm for 24 months. I did notice that new customers would get a saving of 16%, and that this would not apply to me.

I placed my order, and was called weeks later by FNB. I was told that while my phone will be delivered in the next few days the sim card will be delivered a few days later. I said that I would prefer them to be delivered together, but was told that this was not possible. I spoke to a Shaun at RAM couriers abt delivery of the sim card, and he said that he would check with the company that supplied the phone. A few days later the phone was delivered. No mention of 1GB wifi.

Having waited at least a week and getting no sim card, I called FNB today regarding the sim card, and was told that the contract was only for new customers. I could cancel the deal at a 20% penalty!

It is clear that this deal had been misrepresented to me, and there was no clarity prior to me receiving the phone. As an FNB customer I had expected a better deal than the R399 contract available at Cell C. Since this is not the case, I would expect a complete cancellation with no penalties or a transfer to a contract.
