Unbelievably shockingly BAD service

My car decided to die on me @ about 5.15pm yesterday, while on my way home on the N2. When I called Auto and General for assistance, they claim they could not pick up my policy, only a very old policy with 1st for women, which I cancelled in 2010! After numerous calls to them, I still had not received any positive feedback re: assistance for me. My friend then arranged for someone from 1st for women (she is with them) to call me, and assist. This lady called me back every 15 mins to check whether I was ok/safe, and within 1 hour she arranged for the towing company to collect my car, and assure that I get home safe. Up to THAT point, Auto and general has not once called me back, despite me telling them I was in a dangerous area and all alone!
When I called to sort this matter this morning, they picked up my policy immediately, with no issues.
I am LIVID to say the least, as clearly Auto and General has ZERO regard for my safety.
I have never claimed while with Auto and General, and this was the 1st "incident" where I have needed their help. To say I am disillusioned is an understatement. I have since requested a quote from 1st for women, and will move as soon as I can!
