Absa
Insurance policy issued without consent

Yesterday morning the debit order for my motor vehicle finance went off my cheque account. The amount was R700 more than usual. Upon enquiring with ABSA, I was informed that the additional amount was for motor vehicle insurance. I never applied for insurance from ABSA as I'm insured with Outsurance. I also didn't receive any phone calls / correspondence from ABSA in this regard. I find it very strange as I have had my motor financed through ABSA 18 months ago. Why would they now out of the blue insure my car? I was told to phone ABSA motor vehicle finance department, which I did. I was then told to phone Absa Insurance which I also did. It seems like nobody can help me and everybody keeps on referring me to somebody else. I desperately need to be refunded and this debit order amended! I don't know whom to speak to anymore as everybody seems to pass the bucket. If this is how ABSA treats their clients, I will just switch all my business to another bank. I have sent two emails to two different addresses and made numerous calls since yesterday, but to no avail.
Somebody needs to take responsibility asap!!
