Failure to close a cheque account

I don't know what's wrong with Standard Bank and their system!?! Late last year I closed my Achiever Cheque Account since I was moving to another bank. I was kindly assisted by their service consultant. I then went again to the bank as I was requested to return the cheque card back to the bank and I remember I was kindly assisted by Tshepo who cut the card in front of me & also made a photocopy of the destroyed card as proof that the card was destroyed since I personally closed the account. Now I'm surprised why an I still getting bank statements with overdraft amounts yet I've never had any overdraft in my life before & I also receive internet banking msgs as well yet I personally closed the account at the Hatfield branch. I'm starting to wonder how incompetent is the Standard Bank system bcoz I've had hassles in the past with closing my previous savings accounts. Someone better sort this out coz there's absolutely no ways I'm paying for bank charges that I never incurred due to your incompetent system. I jst called the call centre nw & the guy who assisted me told me the account was never closed. How difficult is it to close an account!? Someone must please sort this mess out!!!
