Ridiculous interest charged

I have been paying my revolving credit since 2008, I had initially borrowed R11, 500.00 & I do not see the balance going down by any chance. The money I have paid thus far for 4 years is plus minus R16, 176.00 which is more than what I have borrowed from Standard Bank. The money I have used can amount to R4000.00 even less on that revolving credit. I am so amazed by the balance of R8900.00 after so many years that I have paid this account.
