In January I went to the Randburg branch and acquired a loan successfully, a few hours later I got an sms from somebody claiming to be from Capitec who needs to update my details and Capitec told me that it was a message and that I shouldn't answer any questions from whoever calls and tries to verify my account details. Indeed the guy phoned and was interested in my African bank funds that I had just received and since I didn't cooperate they were unsuccessful in accessing my account.
Yesterday I went to the Hillbrow branch and acquired another loan, a few hours later I got a similar sms like I did in January stating the same rubbish of verifying my account details. I replied to that sms and stated that I was aware of what they whoever they are, are trying to do.
I am convinced that somebody at African Bank Head office Accounts department is responsible for this, they can see the approved loans and they want to immediately trick us customers into divulging our account details so they can take the money for themselves.
I have lodged a complaint with the department and got ref:223020130628084038,
Put an end to this, it's your own staff defrauding us.
