I have been happy with Capitec Bank, until this morning. Someone claiming to be an employee of Capitec Roodepoort branch phoned me this morning with this number 0117602858. He said he needed to update my details on their side. I asked him why, he just said they were updating all the clients details. I got suspicious, because firstly i opened my account at another branch, not with them. Secondly he claimed that i have made a loan with them, which is not true. I refused to confirm anything, and told him that i will personally go to my branch and update my details there. He then became irritated and told me that my account will be suspended if i dont update it, i told him that they can rather suspend it. Now i dont understand how Capitec can allow this, knowing that there are lot of out there. If Capitec suspend my account, then im moving to another bank. That employee hang up on me, when he found out that i was not going to badge. The funny thing is i have never even transcated at that branch.
