On 3rd of June 2013 my purse was in Brits Mall. I discovered it within minutes because I went to another shop to buy things. The whole day I only paid with my card and didn't withdrew any money from my account. Just as I discovered my purse was gone I started walking towards Absa to go stop my cards. Then I received a sms saying money is being withdrawn from my account. I started running but before I got to the bank a second amount was taken. The staff at Absa Brits Mall stopped my card and logged a complaint at their dept. They were gonna investigate and they said I would most probably get my money back. Now they let me know I will not be getting my money back because my card and pin was used. A friend of mine's father went through the same ordeal and he threw a huge tantrum in Absa and they gave his money back.
What I would like to know is how would you recommend me going forward with this?
I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what my options are in getting my money back.
