The nightmare of getting a direct debit cancelled

I sold my car before we left South Africa and cancelled the contract with Miway. However, it seems that a cancellation doesn't lead to a cancellation of direct debits. So since months Miway debits my account and my Nedbanker has fun to reverse it. It seems that nothing stops Miway. I tried to call them and got no joy. I tried the online portal and got nothing else than a reference number. I am waiting for a reply for couple of weeks now. To me they either busy working on all the other complaints or busy working in the accounting department to see who reversed direct debits instead of fixing the source of an issue. As usual it is easy to get a contract signed off but is a nightmare if you wanna get rid of it.
