Oakhurst Insurance
Rejected Insurance Claim

I own a Corsa utility bakkie which was recently in an accident. The vehicle is insured under my fianc? as the primary driver (who was the driver at the time of the accident). On 25/05/2013 she was on her way back from work, she had gone into the Mac Donald's on Witkoppen Road at the North gate mall on her way out she was rear ended by a another vehicle. I had submitted a claim to the insurer (with all the requested documentation), and they had later informed me (by Wanda Henning) that they will not be able to pay the claim as it was used for "business use". The car was merely used to get her to work and back. What puzzles me is, how this can be valid grounds to reject the claim and how they define business use. Is every person who uses their car as a mode of the transport to get to work defined as "Business use"? The person who compiled the report (Pierre) advised to write a formal complaint if I am not happy with the report. I have communicated my concerns to the PERSONAL PORTFOLIO CONSULTANT (Shelley Hercules, 044 805 3871, [Email Removed] assigned to me and she has never gotten back to me after I have left message with the receptionist and sent emails.
