Taking double payments
I got a quote from Discovery Insure at the end of April. I asked that the debit order be made on the 7th of each month as I only get paid on the 5th. The lady I spoke with said it was too late in April to do it for May so we can change the policy to start 1 June and she'll request the debit order be changed to the 7th, So the policy commenced on the 1st of June and they took off the payment on the 1st. So, I thought, they probably forgot to change it to the 7th. On the 7th they took another payment. So I paid a double premium. I phoned and they explained that their system works that way and that the payment for the 7th is for July. We'll I explained that it's not acceptable as I can't afford a double payment. They promised to email me and get back to me. Nothing... I phoned again and they said they'll get back to me. I need that refund ASAP...
