I have already posted about this issue on hellopeter & received a very inadequate response from Absa. I transferred R4500 into an incorrect Standard Bank account. Not only did Absa not notify me, but has after almost 4 weeks very matter-of-factly e-mailed me & told me that i cannot get my money back, but that I am welcome to get a court order & the sue the account holder. Basically, because their banking systems are inadequate & their staff impersonal & uncaring & their service shocking, I have to forfeit money that I worked for & entrusted to them. There is no disclaimer on the site saying that account holder names & numbers & branch codes are not linked & the system will not kick it out. I trusted their banking systems & internal processes which has failed me as a consumer. They are also unwilling to provide me with proof that that have contacted the Standard bank account holder & that they have insufficient funds or refuse the debit. I will be moving my account from Absa and will never return to this bank.
