Owing to an accident and requiring emergency surgery I applied to ABSA for a personal loan, which according to your website, "Simply enter your requirements, and you could have the money in your account in less than 10 minutes! " and "No collateral is needed to apply for the loan - it is based on your credit-worthiness."
And yet I was turned down because I have been with my company for less than 3 months (which is why I don't yet qualify for company medical aid yet!) so 3 payslips have not gone into my account. Why do I need three payslips? "So we can see how you manage your account.
Really?
The fact that I have been with you for over a decade and have deposited money from overseas every month for 6 years to meet car repayments (a vehicle I own outright), insurance premiums and credit card repayments doesn't give you ANY CLUE as to how I manage my affairs? The fact that I have never been bankrupt or declared insolvent seems not to matter either. I pass credit and criminal checks with flying colours - because I couldn't do my brand, spanking new job without them.
Will someone bother to address this problem? Doubtful.
Will I be looking around for another bank? Probable
