I always have banked with FNB and have joined ABSA about 4 months ago and opened a Flexi Save account. I am unemployed an recently when receiving my UIF money I saw a deducted amount of R800 on the account. I went to the Westgate branch and they advised that I owe absa money for some personal loan and a credit card that has been handed over. I have no knowledge of this and have never received any communication whether verbal or telephonically or written from Absa regarding this. Ever since I joined ABSA all of a sudden I see deductions off my account apparently for a personal loan that I have. Now I want to know from them, who gave them the right to just deduct money without contacting me or make arrangements. I AM UNEMPLOYED and don't have money and the little money that I get from UIF is for my small child nappies and milk. I want this rectified asap as I couldn't buy my son's milk etc and when they give my money back I don't want to be deducted fees as well because this is not my mess up but theirs. Also want proof of the so called personal loan and credit card as I have no knowledge or correspondence of this.
