I did an application with the Call Centre as a first time home owner on the 14/05/13. I specifically asked about the promotion I saw on the Standard Bank website called "Jump Start" aimed at "first time home owners". The consultant assured me yes this the campaign running and yes you can have the bond registration fees and transfer cost included in the bond amount. EASY enough I thought, I got the application processed and it was approved on principal pending a full credit check and also supporting documents ie: payslips and bank statements with an offer to purchase from the seller of the property I was interested in. A huge delay followed because no particular person handles the application, it seems a whole dept is responsible for one bond application (I thought it would speed up the process not delay it). After this delay I was told the application is approved, but now only 90% approved and I am liable for transfer costs and bond fees. My application was not captured under the promotion applied for and the call centre is most unhelpful and the attitude is appalling to put it mildly. If this is how you treat a loyal customer what do you do to new customers applying for new a/c.
