Not aloud as regular drive

I asked for a quote at virgin money where I had my previous car insured. and they tell me I cant be listed as the regular driver because of a Audi 1.8tfsi a3 car that I am buying, and I am under 25, apparenly because its a high performance car,
Why do under 25 get categorize as unsafe,
I will only drive the car a maximum of 12 weeks of the year, and pay an arm and a leg, but none of it is relevant.
What other insurance companies are willing to take my money.
