I opened up a contract with mtn in white river last year, just before I was finished the consultants offered insurance for my cell phone and informed me ONLY that if anything happened to my phone i would be able to claim from the insurance and it would be for free, all I had to do was pay the monthly installments ( - R80).
I lost my phone recently and I called my cell phone provider and had the phone black listed and the number blocked, they told me that I have to get an affidavit from the police station and that was it. I have been working hectic hours at work and been busy with stock take, this recent weekend has been the only time I've had to go and get this ridiculous affidavit (which remains pointless). Once I got all the documents ready and submitted, I have been DECLINED because I didnt claim in the 48 Hours time period which NOT ONE OF THE BRANCHES OR SUPPLIERS informed me of. When I opened the contract and paid for the insurance and contract I DID NOT RECIEVE any documentation with the insurance company's policies or terms and conditions. So I have been paying for the past few months for absolutely NOTHING, which I will NOT stand for.
