I contacted FNB to change open a new account in order get a phone contact. I have closed my account with XX Bank and open an FNB gold current account with the impression that I will get a contract phone S4, waited for my first salary to go in and a debit order to go though before i applied online the 27th May 2013. I called the call center today to inquire about the process. and was informed that it was declined because I did not switch my debit orders. I did not get any notfication that this phone has been declined or the process in which i need to switch my accounts. Please advise if this is normal practice to advertise a product to new FNB customers and then tell them they need to apply after three months because I switched my own accounts without any assists from FNB customer services. I am really considering closing this new account on the basis that FNB has misled me. I dont even get a notifcation of this declined application. ;-(
