Capitec Bank

Last week Thursday 21/05/2013 around 19:00 afternoon I received a call from a lady claiming that she calling from Capitec Banking, she said they are busy updating sms notification on their systems, she wanted to confirm that my details with me again. The lady confirm everything my ID, cellphone number and Banking details. After 10 minutes there was no network on my phone. I suspected something wrong and called Capitec call center and I spoke to Sibusiso around 20:35 to cancel the my account who gave me this ref number 8242929, and he confirm to me that nothing happened on the account no withdrawals or transfer take place, and advised me to go to the branch on the following morning for a new card.

On the following morning I went to Lady Frere branch and the Consultant to me that the were transfers that took place even after I cancel the card with him and the following day 22/05/13 there were transfers and buying of airtime.the consultant reported the case and told me to go and report to the police. I did that. today I recieve a call from Capitec tell me that they wont pay because it was my fault.am taking this further to my lawyers and ombudsman. How can someone use a cancelled card?
