I recently had a call from the Absa Personal Loans Outsource call centre asking for me by my full name! I was already shocked as I am not a client of Absa's so asked how they got my details. They advised that they received them from the Direct Marketing Assn and when I asked if they had my ID number, they had this too... words escape me.
I asked them to remove me from their database immediately 1) they couldnt do this as they were just an outsource call centre and 2) they couldnt confirm who at Absa could help me.
This is shocking, what details are the Direct Marketing Assn giving out and who gives them the right to.
PLEASE CAN ABSA RESPOND TO THIS URGENTLY!
