I took out insurance with First for Woman on my vehicle when I had paid up my finance at a reasonable cost! Checking my bank statement I noticed a debit order transaction for more than double the premium amount from Auto & General. I duly called their call centre and quoted the reference on the statement and they confirmed that it was an insurance premium being deducted. On querying why A & G are deducting when my policy is with First for Woman I was told that a & G are the underwriters. Fair enough. Then I asked why my premium was more than doubled when the vehicle value has dropped by almost 2/3rd's, I was told that when they reassessed my profile, they now insure the risk! Hallo! For a vehicle that is housed in a closed garage in a secure complex, that travels perhaps 600kms per month and a driver that hasn't had a claim in more than 15 years! What is the frikken risk??? Then to have the cheek of being offered a discount because I queried the premium. Listen A & G, if I was that valuable a customer to you, you would have done something about the premium without me asking! I certainly don't need you and will be seeking an alternative!
