I have been insured with FNB Insurance Brokers since January this year. I just called them now (12-Nov-2013) to update details on my insurance policy only to find out that it has been passed onto Auto General. I never consented to this nor was I aware of it.

What's really concerning is that Auto General has increased the premium from ZAR1 600 to ZAR3 100, stating that the hand over from FNB was erroneous and hence the doubled risked profile. This gross negligence is incredibly shocking, I have never experienced such business dealings, it's criminal and unethical at many levels. It's quite disappointing that a reputable bank would resort to such measures when ridding themselves of a fraught book.

Clients were not adequately informed, the process was not consultative and policies were on-sold with an increased premium. Now I have just learned I am uninsured because I asked my banker to reverse a debit order that I didn't consent to, from Auto and General which was authorized by FNB Insurance Brokers.

The horror of finding out; you're uninsured, your policy was on-sold and the premium has double, and all the insurance premiums you've paid can't be accounted for. DISGUSTED!!!
