Was great waking up this morning to see that Direct Axis they had deducted a repayment from my account early, despite the fact that I had not been paid yet! I really don't give a toss that you are going to come back and tell me that my contract states that could be 5 days before or 5 days post the agreed debit date, because you are obligatged to inform me of ANY change to the agreed debit date.

Any reputable institution will notify you should their be a need to make an early deduction and any decent South African company will deduct the money on the next working day, should you debit order fall on a non-working day.

I am lucky enough to have the funds, but don't envy those who are now saddled with the costs of debit order rejections... it is disgraceful to take money out of someone's account on a date that you have not authorised nor been informed of.
