My husband has held a Virgin credit card for several years - the total amount incurred each month is paid in full via debit order. His card expires at the end of June. A few weeks ago he received a letter saying that due to his unacceptable payment pattern, his card would not be renewed. He did not owe a penny. He immediately phoned the call centre, and a bored, disinterested clerk told him to ignore the letter. Hearing nothing to confirm that the new card would be issued he e mailed them a few days ago, a very badly written and worded letter of apology was received. Lo and behold, yet another letter arrived in the post this morning, stating his card would not be renewed. This amounts to defamation of character if this information has been passed to credit bureau. Virgin Money South Africa should be ashamed of themselves and I will be informing the parent company of this crass incompetence.
