ABSA has frozen my Flexi account account for the SECOND time, no notification.
I attempted to acces my money last month and it was frozen. I went to the Sunninghill branch and I was informed it was due to money owing on my cheque acc and credit card. Bear in mind there were arrangements in place for these monies, arrangements I had been honouring once employed. ( I incurred the debt when I lost my job last year).
After spending 3 hours at the branch the branch manager released my money by way of cash withdrawal. I asked him to withdraw all the money due to fear that it may be frozen again.By then I had debit orders that bounced. The bank charged me for this but they STILL called me last week to inform me I had a negative balance because of the bounced debit orders even though it was their fault. Money was deposited into my account on 22 May 2013 and I discovered that the acccount is STILL blocked. I am obtaining my salary tommorow and this this is going to cause severe prejudice to me as I will not in a position to pay my accounts INCLUDING the accounts I have with ABSA the very same bank FREEZING my account. Is this how such a reputable bank treats customers??! Deplorable!
