About 2 weeks ago i was offered a credit card by FNB with a limit of R16500. I did not want to take a limit that high and decreased it to R3000. Then we had a death in the family and we had to travel to the funeral and i needed some extra cash. I decided to increase the limit to R6000 on the 16th. They phoned me monday to request I fax them a payslip which I did right away and by the 22nd i decided to call and find out why it takes so long, by now i had to take a temp loan from fnb to be able to make it for the funeral.
I also changed job recently and my last 2 months salary did not go into my bank acc. Now i am told that the limit increase can't be done because my salary has not been paid into my bank acc for 2 months and i will have to wait 3 months before i can get the increase.
What i want to know is: Why it's fine to give me R16500 with no salary payments into my acc in the last 2 months but an increase from R3000 to R6000 is completely impossible? Should this not have been explained to me when the offer was made? Why could i not have been told when i applied for the limit increase?
After 10 years with FNB I'm really dissapointed and now I'm bankshopping again...
