I was contacted by ABSA H.O. that my chq a/c had been overdrawn by R1, 000. This turned out to be a withdrawal from an ATM due to 'cloning' of my Ct card, I was told. I went to Woodlands Branch to cancel Ct.card and to "sign necessary doc's". It turned out that I didn't have to sign any doc's, however, I was also not given ANY ref. no. in order to follow up. The chq a/c does not and did not have any overdraft facility. I've never been able to even overdraw the a/c with fifty cents! How is it possible for anyone else to overdraw my a/c with R1, 000 (one thousand rands).? I always take the utmost care with my Ct card, so how does this happen? My concern is that it seems I'm NOT being contacted by ANYONE in this regard; I have NO ref. no. of having reported this incident at Woodlands Branch; I'm NOT getting any responses from the Branch Manager, Gert Smit, either regarding emails sent to him, querying this fact. SO, WHAT AM I TO DO NEXT?
