First For Women Insurance
High Excess due to inflation - what a joke!!

On 7th May 2013 I was involved in an accident (lady at work reversed into my car) I had contacted First for Women to inform them about this accident and was told that my excess was R8200 (current premium is R875 per month). I was shocked! I then check all my documents received from First For women since 2007. In January 2010 my premium was R685 and excess was R2000 (with my Fiat Palio 1.6) in June 2010 I purchased Polo Vivo 1.4 and my premium change to R560 and excess to R3000. In March 2011 my premium increased to R659 (that is R100 increase since June 2010) and my excess increased by an extra R5300 making it R8300. When I asked about this the consultant told me that i was due to inflation!! I can understand my premium increasing every year but how does First for Women justify my excess increasing by nearly 300% within 9 months?!?!?!?! I never received communication to inform me that in 2011 my excess would be increased to R8300! I then did a search on Hippo and got a quote from First for Women (using my details) for around R560 and basic excess of R3300 - justify this as I have been with First For Women since 2007!!
