Lack of communication between FNB's divisions

My wife and I are in the process of applying for a home loan and FNB homeloans immediately declined our request because they said that my wife's credit card account was not closed - it was paid up and closed in 2005 already. We contacted the FNB card contact centre who confirmed that the account was closed but FNB home loans said that they need a paid up letter from FNB card. My wife requested that it be sent to her and was told it would take 24 working hours. This was on Friday 10 May 2013. After this time had passed she contacted them again and was told it would take between 5 & 7 working days for the paid up letter and was told that they cannot help any further (despite FNB 's slogan of "How can we help you? "). Why does it take so long to get a paid up letter from one division of FNB to another division of FNB? Can they not liaise with each other? This is very frustrating and slowing down our home loan process. It could mean that we lose the property...
