Discovery have decided to discontinue their Silver Discovery card and automatically "upgrade" all their customers to their gold card. However this upgrade comes at a cost of a 20% fee increase, and Discovery refuse to issue the corresponding gold card until the previous card is expired.
Upon querying it with Discovery Card, their first response was just to resend me the official communication which was the very thing I was querying. After asking for further clarification they merely stated that they "cannot issue me with a gold card".
This smacks of an easy way to increase your fee without incurring any cost. If they increased the fee of the Silver Card by 20% there would have been an outcry, however, since they are "upgrading" me, everything must be ok.
After being a very loyal Discovery client for well over 10 years, I am starting to become quite disillusioned.
